Washington Post "makes-up" story about FCC and free Wi-Fi

In another blow to the credibility of mainstream media--the Washington Post has published a grossly "inaccurate" story--(which unfortunately was picked up by other media and websites)--

No, free Wi-Fi isn’t coming to every US city | Ars Technica: "When bad journalism strikes: the big story of the day was completely false. . . It all originated from one Washington Post report with the less-shouty headline "Tech, telecom giants take sides as FCC proposes large public Wi-Fi networks." The report had some bold, inaccurate claims, notably this one: "If all goes as planned, free access to the Web would be available in just about every metropolitan area and in many rural areas.". . . ."
